After returning to work after my miscarriage they left me with the same manager – it was horrible.

I lost my baby after being bullied by my manager. I worked for a local council. Devastated. I had complained to HR and followed internal procedures but absolutely nothing was done. After returning to work after my miscarriage they left me with the same manager – it was horrible. They refused to change my line management.

I fell pregnant again and the bullying made me so stressed I had a massive bleed. At that point I decided I had to take action and joined my Union who advised me to stay off sick and take out a grievance. I actually won my grievance on the basis they had failed to follow their own policies and really had no choice – I had kept evidence of all my complaints and others had corroborated my story.

At that point they offered a Compromise Agreement which I accepted only because the stress was too much to go back to working with this man. Nothing so far as I know was done about my manager. He is in the same position waiting for the next poor woman to bully. And I have a gagging clause as part of the Agreement so can’t expose them.

Luckily I now have a beautiful baby girl but will never stop grieving for the baby I lost.

I am a senior manager myself now and will ensure any pregnant woman working for me never has to go through what I did. Stay strong Mummies and thank you for letting me share my story.
