I am now having to hand in my notice so that my son will see his mum

Returning to work as a teacher in a busy prep school I thought I would be well supported and given flexible working hours without a problem. How wrong I could be. I was told I would be returning to work full time, that being six days a week with extra days at weekends throughout the term. There was no room for negotiations and the headmaster doesn’t even consider the person that I put forward as a possible to do the lessons that I wanted to pass on to someone. I am now having to hand in my notice so that my son will see his mum! I’m saddened and disappointed with how the school have handled my return to work. It has caused me stress and sadness when I should be enjoying my last months of maternity leave and time with my baby!
