Made redundant when my baby was 5 weeks old, whilst my child-less colleagues kept their jobs

I was laid off while on maternity leave with my oldest daughter in July 2011. She was 5 weeks old at the time. There was another woman who held the same position as I did at the agency, and she was supposed to be laid off for performance reasons a few months prior, but the company never went through with it. Instead, they chose to lay me off, along with a few others, while on maternity leave and she kept her job. She had no children at the time. I met with lawyers and tried to hold the agency responsible, but because there were a few others laid off at the same time I was, the action was “legal.”
