I was an account manager for a communications company. I had a great relationship with my key client and had trebled the business we did with them in the 2.5 years I worked there. My job required a lot of travel and I knew I would struggle to return to the role after I had the baby. However I never got to make that decision as my role was made redundant while I was on maternity leave. I accepted this at the time because I was torn about whether to return. But when I think about it now, it wasn’t really fair.
