With 7 years experience in the field and after 2 exhausting interviews I landed the great paying job of my dreams! After 7 months of hard work, early mornings, late nights, weekends and not to mention blood, sweat and tears I had the best numbers in my department by far -and consecutively every month thereafter! 3 months before I left work for maternity leave my boss told me I was getting a promotion with a raise but since I was going to be gone for maternity leave there wasn’t a start date set in stone. I stupidly agreed to it and didn’t get anything in writing- just shook my boss’s hand and even hugged him because I was so excited! I even called my dad that night, I was proud that 6 or 7 months pregnant I was still working so hard I earned a promotion. Maternity leave is coming to an end. I go back to work next week and they offered my best friend at work my promoted position today and she took it. I am so upset and hurt and confused.
