Older men of the organisation make reference to how they feel maternity leave is far too long and mothers need to work as much as they do to be respected

I was already part time (4 days) on joining the company with a child. I worked for 8 years really well, including 2 promotions before getting married and pregnant with my 2nd child. All was going well other than being worked very hard whilst heavily pregnant, otherwise my rights were respected and I was happy and colleagues were very kind. On returning the problems arose. Older men of the organisation make reference to how they feel maternity leave is far too long and mothers need to work as much as they do to be respected. Upon my return many of my jobs had been shared out and the team didn’t want to return the tasks to me which left me feeling like I wasn’t required. An over emphasis has been placed on colleagues good work and I’m often ignored and left out of projects despite my offer to help and then a great ‘who har’ about how brilliant the people are who were involved. I’ve had aggressive emails when I’ve tried to action change.
