There was absolutely no effort to accommodate me

I was head of press at English National Ballet before maternity leave. There were a lot of staff changes whilst I was away, including a new director of Comms, Director of HR, MD and AD. I did request to come back to my role part time, which I understand can be difficult. However there was absolutely no effort to accommodate me, and after a farcical few months going through the motions with HR I decided to resign. I was even asked if I wanted to apply for the marketing assistant role at one stage. The HR rep hadn’t bothered to check my previous job title. It was also suggested If I could find someone to job share with me that might work. Surely their responsibility?

It’s all too easy to give in in this situation as my mind was a little elsewhere with a young baby and confidence is slightly lacking after time off.
