I had been working for 6 years in the IT dept of a broadcasting company. I was paid for 40 hours a week, but usually worked 60-70. This continued for much of my pregnancy.
Around a month after my baby was born, I was informed that some members of my team, including myself, had been moved to a completely different department and role.
With a new baby, and suffering from post natal depression, I didn’t stand up for myself at the time.
1 week before I was due to return to work, I was told that this new position had been made redundant. The department at that time hired multiple contractors (mostly male) and they were kept on, while I was given no opportunity to stay or transfer to an existing role. Some of those contractors still work there, 1 year later.
Meanwhile, I have spent the last year trying, without success to find a new role, despite my qualifications and years of experience.
