Pregnant Then Screwed is looking for a freelance content creator who will deliver 2 short videos per week to help PTS build our Tik Tok following. The videos will be entertaining, educational, and engaging. They will explore issues related to the motherhood penalty and feminism using the daily news agenda as a hook.
It is expected that you will produce 24 short videos within a 3 month time period. The videos will be around 45 seconds – 1 minute each. You will report to the Head of Communications and Campaigns. From Monday – Friday you will be sent a series of relevant news articles by a core member of the PTS team to support your research work.
Although these videos will primarily be used to build our Tik Tok following we may also use it on other platforms including Instagram (236k followers), Facebook (40k followers), Twitter (42k followers) and LinkedIn
The ideal candidate will have significant experience of building a social media following using video content to drive engagement. They will have an interest and a good understanding of the motherhood penalty and feminism. They will be comfortable with appearing on camera and representing PTS and they will be well equipped to use humour to communicate a serious (and sometimes complex) message.
Equipment will not be provided. It is expected that the successful candidate will have their own equipment and skills to design, film and edit videos. It is expected that the successful candidate will also present these videos, or will find others to speak to camera
The ideal candidate will:
- Be able to demonstrate an ability to grow a following on social media using video
- Be able to demonstrate an ability to communicate complex and serious messages using humour
- Have a good understanding of the motherhood penalty and feminism
- They will know how to improve the visibility of tik tok videos and be able to make recommendations on ways to increase engagement
- Be adept at using video editing software
- Have a brilliant sense of humour
- Be able to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Be comfortable talking on camera
