Rebecca Langton
Rebecca’s background is in politics and public affairs, and she joins the board with over 10 years’ experience In advisory and elected roles in local government. She served as an elected councillor and Cabinet Member at Nottingham City Council for four years, leading the Council’s work on communities, skills, growth and economic development. Rebecca has held communications, public affairs and policy roles ranging from regional PR agencies to national charities. She was Deputy Manager of the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Refugee Forum from 2015-16, where she led the team overseeing the Nottinghamshire response to the Syrian Refugee Crisis. Rebecca has held voluntary roles including Chair of the Nottingham Arimathea Trust, a small charity which housed destitute refugees and asylum seekers, board member of Nottingham Women’s Centre and as Chair of Governors at a local primary school. Rebecca co-founded the Nottingham Working Mums Network, connecting local mums to support one another. She has a Masters in Public Administration with a focus on regional devolution and a longstanding commitment to championing women’s rights.Rebecca lives in Nottingham with her husband and two young daughters.
