It was made clear that I couldn’t be a director and have a newborn.

I was a director of a large charity and when I was unexpectedly pregnant with my third child after a fifteen year gap.  I worked throughout my maternity leave but when I was due to return to the office after only five months off it was made clear that I couldn’t be a director and have a newborn.  With the support of a solicitor I had to take out a grievance only to be threatened with disciplinary action and dismissal for following due process!
The daily barrage of abusive emails by my employer’s solicitors and HR department was effective in ensuring that I didn’t have the physical or mental strength to go through with the Employment Tribunal.  I signed a NDA and walked away with 9 months’ salary.
