I was made redundant on maternity leave. To be fair, most of my team was made redundant too so I didn’t take it too personally (even if it did leave me #screwed). Finding out on Facebook and then having it confirmed via text was pretty sh*tty though. The AWFUL bit has come more recently, in finding out on LinkedIn that the MAN who I HIRED to cover my role when I was on maternity leave, was kept on under a temporary contract which is now being made into a PERMANENT ROLE. Hmmmm… not right at all. Oh well. I have used my redundancy package to set up my own business so onwards and upwards! But still… it all just doesn’t sit right with me.
