Vacancy for a freelance filmmaker in Scotland

Building on our work to end the motherhood penalty in England, we’re delighted to expand our campaigning work in Scotland. We know that pregnancy/maternity discrimination affects three in four pregnant women and mothers (73%) in Scotland (EHRC Research, 2016), with one in ten (9%) being forced out of their job. Almost half of mothers reported a negative impact on opportunity, status or job security (46%), whilst 40% reported a risk or impact to their health or welfare.

As part of our work in Scotland we are launching our own Scotland Instagram page and we want to make a film about challenges in the childcare sector in Scotland.

We are looking for a filmmaker who:

  • Has access to equipment and can film five/six contributors in central Scotland
  • Has access to stock footage of children/nursery settings
  • Can edit footage into film with duration of 2.00

We anticipate this will be two days of filming and one day of editing.

Our budget is £1500.

We have a member of staff that will set up a filming location, organise contributors and act as a producer on filming days.

Interested? Please email [email protected] with your details and a showreel by Monday the 4th of September
