On Tuesday 31st October, Pregnant Then Screwed will lead a march through London to demand that the Government take action to end pregnancy and maternity discrimination. ‘March of the Mummies’ will bring together people from across the UK who are sick of women losing their jobs, or being treated differently at work, just for getting pregnant.

A 2016 EHRC report found there had been a significant rise in the number of women experiencing pregnancy and maternity discrimination, and a decrease in the number of women accessing justice in these cases. Nearly 18 months on, nothing has changed. March of the Mummies will demand that the Government take decisive action now.

We will be launching the march and our demands in August, but before the launch we are recruiting some new volunteer roles to make the event successful:

Event Manager
We are looking for an experienced event manager to join the Pregnant Then Screwed team to coordinate the logistics and production for a public rally and march we are planning on the 31st October in London.

The event manager will be responsible for:
Seeking permissions from the council and emergency services for the rally and march route
Liaising with business owners and members of the public who trade or live along the proposed route
Creating the risk assessment, method statement and event plan and ensuring all teams understand their responsibilities
Managing two volunteer event coordinators who will work closely with you to deliver the event
Coordinating the technical and AV requirements
Setting the timeline and communicating this to the director and all volunteers
Onsite day-to-day management of the event, including the set-up and breakdown
Dealing with public enquiries / complaints
Managing supplier relationships.

Time commitment
The event will take place on 31st October so it is expected that you will be available on the 30th and 31st October. We expect the planning to take approximately 16 days from 1st August until 31st October.
We will hold fortnightly skype calls with the whole team on Thursdays. The first call will take place on 3rd August.
From 28th September calls will be weekly

Outreach Manager
We are looking for a personable individual who is interested in working with Pregnant Then Screwed to develop relationships and partnerships for a public rally and march we are planning in London on 31st October. The Outreach Manager will work with Pregnant Then Screwed to research people, organisations and community groups who will support this event by attending and promoting the march.

The Outreach Manager will be responsible for:
Researching organisations, people and community groups who care about the rights of working mothers and women in general
Communicating the vision of the march to these external stakeholders
Negotiating with the stakeholders to secure their attendance at and support for the march, and working with them to help them promote the march through their networks
Working closely with the Fundraising Manager to ensure effective use of resource and avoid any duplication of effort
It is possible that other countries may also be interested in doing a demonstration on the same day. If this happens, the Outreach Manager will be responsible for ensuring there is a coordinated approach between the London march and other marches.

Volunteer manager
We are looking for a Volunteer Manager to join the Pregnant Then Screwed team to coordinate activity for a public rally and march we are planning on the 31st of October in London.

The volunteer manager will be responsible for:
Recruiting volunteers to coordinate the march and rally on the 31st October. At this point, we anticipate we will require around 15 volunteers
Ensure all volunteers are aware of their responsibilities and that they are briefed in advance of the event
Identify the tasks required alongside the event manager and director, and assign volunteers to those specific tasks
Onsite management of the volunteers on 31st October

Time commitment
The event will take place on the 31st October so it is expected that you will be available on 30th and 31st October. We expect the planning to take approximately 16 days from 1st August until 31st October.

Website Manager
We are looking for a volunteer who can manage a new website that we will be creating for a public rally and march which will take place on 31st October in London.
The website will be built on Square Space.

You will be responsible for:
Ensuring all content is accurate and up to date
The design of the website, adding pages and images where relevant
Keeping the content lively and engaging through images, blog posts, videos and other forms of dynamic content

Time commitment
The event will take place on 31st October so it is expected that you will do regular updates from 1st August until 31st October. We expect the overall time commitment for this role to be 10 days.
We will hold fortnightly skype calls with the whole team on Thursdays. The first call will take place on 3rd August.

Fundraising Manager
We are looking for an experienced Fundraising Manager who can secure donations and gifts in kind for a public rally and march which will take place on 31st of October in London.

You will be responsible for:
Researching potential funders including: trusts, foundations and companies
Writing bids where appropriate
Considering new and innovative ways of raising money to support the march
Alongside the director, approaching companies who may be interested in sponsoring the march
Managing relationships with donors and sponsors
Working closely with the Outreach Manager to ensure effective use of resource and avoid duplication of effort.

Time commitment
The event will take place on 31st October and we expect the overall time commitment for this role to be 12 days.
We will hold fortnightly skype calls with the whole team on Thursdays. The first call will take place on 3rd August.
