Over the last decade parents across the UK have stood with us to expose discrimination, demand change and win real improvements to the system. Together, we’ve built a movement that can’t be ignored – but we’re not done. These are important steps forward, but the system is still failing parents every day, and we’re not stopping until it changes.
2024
In 2024 we supported over 53,000 parents with free advice and specialist support, as demand for our services surged. Our campaigning broke through to new audiences: we secured 6,200+ media hits, mobilised thousands of parents, and drove 7,000 signatures on our call for better paternity leave. We protested outside Downing Street over NDA misuse, launched a petition for an independent childcare review, and hosted a reception in the Scottish Parliament. Our General Election interview series reached nearly half a million viewers, our work was raised in Parliament 22 times, and we were invited to Downing Street within the first 100 days of the new Government.
2023
In 2023 we launched PTS Scotland and supported more than 83,000 women across the UK, secured £1.4m in compensation for mothers facing discrimination, and were featured in the press over 2,800 times. The Treasury credited our role in expanding the 30 hours funded childcare scheme, and we won three Third Sector Awards including Small Charity of the Year.
2022
In 2022 we organised March of the Mummies, bringing 15,000 parents across 11 UK cities onto the streets to demand childcare, flexible working and parental leave reform, sparking a national conversation about how the system is failing families. Our work was raised in Parliament every 10 days, we secured £1.3m for the women we support, and provided free legal advice to 70,000 women.
2021
In 2021 we took the Government to court over indirect sex discrimination in the self-employed income support scheme, and won in the Court of Appeal, proving the scheme discriminated against mothers.
