Our volunteers are all trained HR professionals who care deeply about tackling pregnant, maternity and parental discrimination in the workplace. When you call our Advice Line you can expect an empathetic ear, well informed HR advice and information about your employment rights, and signposting to further support. Our volunteer HR Advisors will talk through your situation with you, and offer HR advice and guidance. If they feel your situation may require further legal or benefits advice, they can signpost you to further support. This now includes our new partnership with Working Families, who can provide advice on in-work benefits and legal advice for working parents and carers.
Before calling, please be aware that our volunteers:
• Can’t provide legal advice, prepare any legal document or provide legal representation.
• Can’t provide financial advice.
• Can’t provide medical advice, clinical guidance or health diagnoses.
• Can’t offer advice on childcare or childcare funding, self-employment, benefits or birthing restrictions.
Demand for our Advice Line service is very high, so we kindly ask that you check our online advice resources before calling. Please note that we receive a very high volume of calls and have between 1-3 volunteers available at any one time—you may not get through straight away, and if the line is busy you will be advised to try again later.
