Write to Edinburgh City Council: funding rule changes for parents who do not live in the city

Make some noise Scotland!

We are very concerned by proposals made by Edinburgh City Council. They intend to change the rules around accessing funded childcare for parents who do not live in the city.

Only allowing parents to access these funded hours in a council setting will have a significant impact on the income and wellbeing of families. It also goes against Scottish Government policy direction of person centred care, enabling choice, funding following the child and Getting It Right For Every Child.

We are concerned that parents will be driven out of their jobs because there aren’t enough affordable, accessible or flexible enough jobs for parents to make this work.

📩Help us protest these proposed changes by sending our letter template to Councillor Griffiths at Edinburgh City Council. It is very quick and easy to do! Please use the form below ⬇️
