Meet our new Advice Forum!
Every year our fantastic HR Advice Line volunteers speak to hundreds women and parents experiencing challenges or pregnancy and maternity discrimination at work. The Advice Line provides hours of free support and HR advice every week, however the demand for the service is high and we know that getting through can be difficult. That’s why we’re very excited to introduce the Advice Forum, an online community set up to help improve access to HR advice and guidance on your pregnancy, maternity and parental rights.
You can use the forum to anonymously post questions about your rights at work and have them answered by a PTS volunteer HR Advisor. Over time we hope that the forum will also become a bank of knowledge that you can search through and learn from.
Some things to note before posting in the forum
- Our Advice Forum volunteers are all CIPD qualified HR Professionals. They can offer advice on your employment rights, however they can not give legal advice or ongoing case work.
- It helps us if you can share where in the UK you are based. The advice in this forum generally covers England, Scotland and Wales as employment law is devolved in Northern Ireland.
- We can not offer Employment Tribunal advice through this forum. Please take a look at our Tribunal Mentor Programme for peer support, or visit our signposting page for legal advice options.
- To use the forum you will need to create an account. This is free to do and you can delete your account at any time.
The forum is managed by Pregnant Then Screwed staff with the support of our team of Volunteer HR Advisors. We aim to respond to all advice requests posted in this forum asap (at the moment this is usually within 24-48 hours), however please note that we have a small team of volunteers who are online at limited times.

The Advice Forum is a new service that is being trialled by Pregnant Then Screwed. As this is a trial, we will be developing and learning as we go to try and provide support in the best way.
