Rachel Grocott

Rachel joined Pregnant then Screwed in May 2025 after spending seven years at Bloody Good Period – where she started out as a part-time comms whizz while six months pregnant, and helped grow the charity into a leading voice on period inequality, most recently as the CEO. From rallying celebrity support and headline-grabbing campaigns, to developing award-winning programmes like Bloody Good Employers and getting periods into Parliament, Rachel has a track record of driving impact and positive change. She is an experienced charity leader, having worked at organisations both large and small over the last twenty years in a variety of communications, campaigning, fundraising and leadership roles.

Rachel balances working life with a young family, a very energetic rescue dog and regular Zumba classes.

Our vision is a world where the mothers, parents and families of today and tomorrow thrive.
But the reality right now is mothers, parents and families are repeatedly failed by systems that are supposed to help them, systems which set up unfairness and disadvantage across a lifetime. This is the motherhood penalty, and Pregnant Then Screwed exists to challenge it.

Founded on International Women’s Day in 2015, we are rooted in lived experience and driven by fearless conviction. We challenge the systems that hold mothers back so that everyone who experiences motherhood can work and care without penalty. We campaign for change, offer support and advice, and build community with parents across the UK. We do this with power, courage and love.
